The Grand Pier at Weston-Super-Mare
Fastener Supply for Coastal Construction Project
RCF Bolt & Nut was proud to support the redevelopment of The Grand Pier at Weston-super-Mare, one of the South West’s most iconic seaside attractions. Originally built over a century ago, the pier suffered severe fire damage in 2008, resulting in a major reconstruction project to restore the landmark to its former glory.
As part of the £39 million redevelopment programme, RCF Bolt & Nut supplied essential fixings and fastening components used in the pier’s structural rebuild. Coastal construction projects require a high level of attention to specification, particularly due to exposure to harsh environmental conditions such as moisture, salt air, wind loading, and long-term corrosion risk.
With the pier’s rebuild being a high-profile project under public attention, accuracy and reliability were critical. Our team supported the project by ensuring components were manufactured and supplied to the correct standards, helping contractors meet tight timescales and maintain consistency across the installation process.
From structural fixings through to specialist bolts and fastening solutions, RCF Bolt & Nut’s involvement in the Grand Pier redevelopment demonstrates our ability to supply demanding construction and engineering projects where performance, durability, and precision are non-negotiable.
The successful reopening of the Grand Pier in 2010 marked a major milestone for Weston-super-Mare, and RCF Bolt & Nut is proud to have played a part in supporting the supply chain behind such a well-recognised and important UK redevelopment project.
